Description

Tool & Fixture Machinist/Engineering Technician 1st Shift

Pays $31 -43 per hour

Role Summary/Purpose:

Engineering Technician role will support a variety of development activities for aerospace manufacturing.
Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Prototype Machining, Fabrication, Welding, Assembly, and Testing.
Role reports directly to engineering and requires strong aptitude for problem solving and collaboration on best strategies for new projects.

Job Overview/Responsibilities:

Job function supports engineering development activities for aerospace manufacturing.
Primary responsibilities include: Prototype Machining, Fabrication, Welding, Assembly, and Testing

Manufacture of CNC fixtures, molds and other production tooling from blueprints, specifications, and or verbal instruction

Sets up and operates a variety of machines, including CNC and conventional

Reports to Engineering and provides appropriate updates on project status, schedule and issues

Coordinates project materials and machine tools with sourcing team

Maintains organized work area, including general shop maintenance and housekeeping activities as assigned

Ensures 100% compliance to all safety and EHS policies

Performs other duties and special projects as assigned

Qualifications:

High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) plus minimum of 5 years manufacturing-related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education, technical training and experience.

Experience and working knowledge of aerospace machining/manufacturing

Ability to safely operate machines and equipment (Lathes, Mills, Surface Grinders, Ect.)

Ability to interpret basic Engineering DRWG's and specifications

Ability to perform basic shop math for machine setup and dimensional verification

Computer proficiency with basic windows applications

Desired Characteristics:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Also, proven ability to demonstrate:

Experience interpreting engineering drawings, CAD models and digital part definition

CNC machine set up and operation (NC Mills or Lathes)

Working knowledge of metallic and composite materials

Computer proficiency, experience with CAD/CAM applications such as: E-Drawings, Solidworks, CATIA, or Mastercam

Communicates professionally and effectively, both written and verbal

Team player, works collaboratively and respects all colleagues
